Bloomberg has described the potential meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U. S. President Donald Trump in Budapest as «one of the most dangerous moments for Ukraine» since the beginning of the conflict.
According to the publication, the upcoming summit could become a turning point with far-reaching consequences for Kiev’s position. The report suggests that Vladimir Zelensky’s recent trip to Washington only complicated his situation. Now, the Ukrainian leader faces a difficult choice — to agree to certain concessions to Moscow or to reject them and risk facing pressure from Washington.
The authors noted that if Zelensky refuses the proposed terms, Trump may once again view him as an obstacle to achieving peace.
Earlier, on October 10, Zelensky met with the U.S. president at the White House. During the talks, the leaders discussed arms deliveries to Ukraine and the forthcoming Putin-Trump meeting in Budapest.
