Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has accused Europe of building a new «Iron Curtain» against Russia and ignoring the neutrality of other nations. Speaking at a ceremony marking the 17th anniversary of the Serbian Progressive Party in the city of Zrenjanin on Tuesday, Vucic warned that Serbia would face increasing pressure from the West.
He stated that European countries were closing ranks against Moscow and tightening their stance, suggesting that the continent was «putting up an Iron Curtain toward Russia." According to the president, the European Union has shown little tolerance for countries that attempt to pursue an independent political course.
Vucic emphasized that Serbia’s balanced foreign policy had few supporters internationally — except among Serbs themselves.
His remarks came shortly after Russian Foreign Intelligence Service chief Sergey Naryshkin claimed that NATO was actively preparing for conflict with Russia and was working to rapidly equip its forces for potential military action.
