Bryansk governor says Ukrainian forces hit Unecha district with HIMARS rockets and drones, causing a fire at a fuel site. One firefighter injured during response.
A strike by Ukrainian forces on the Unecha district in Russia’s Bryansk region caused a fire at a fuel infrastructure facility, regional governor Alexander Bogomaz reported.
He stated that the attack involved the use of HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems and strike drones. According to his account, the fire broke out after Russian air defenses repelled what he described as a massive, combined assault using HIMARS rockets and unmanned aerial vehicles.
Bogomaz said the blaze was fully extinguished thanks to the swift work of Bryansk region emergency services. One firefighter was injured during the operation and has been hospitalized, where he is receiving medical treatment.
Earlier, Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that during the previous night, its air defense systems destroyed 46 enemy drones over Russian territory, including 15 over the Bryansk region.
