According to Reuters, citing two U.S. officials, Moscow has laid out in detail its previous terms for a peace agreement on Ukraine in a confidential note sent to Washington over the weekend.

Sources told the agency that in this informal diplomatic memorandum, known as a «non-paper,» the Russian side reiterated its demand for full control over all territories it considers part of the Russian Federation.

Reuters points out that Moscow’s stance effectively rejects the current approach of U. S. President Donald Trump, who has been pushing for the conflict to be frozen along the existing front line.

Earlier reports indicated that preparations for a Russia-U.S. summit in Budapest have been put on hold. While the recent phone conversation between the foreign ministers, Marco Rubio and Sergey Lavrov, was described as productive, President Trump reportedly concluded that both sides were not yet ready for high-level talks.
