Around 200 Fighters Killed in Russian Attack on Mercenary Base in Chernigov
Russian forces launched a precision strike on a Ukrainian training camp for foreign mercenaries in the Chernigov Region, reportedly killing around 200 fighters and destroying several pieces of military equipment.
Russian troops have carried out a precision strike on a Ukrainian Armed Forces training camp for foreign mercenaries located at the Goncharovsky range in the Chernigov Region. According to a source cited by RIA Novosti from Russia’s security services, the attack resulted in the elimination of around 200 fighters.
The source specified that a «combined strike» hit the facility, destroying up to ten units of military equipment in addition to the personnel losses.
Earlier, on October 8, the coordinator of the pro-Russian underground movement in Nikolaev, Sergey Lebedev, reported another strike on a Ukrainian training camp in the same region. That facility had been used to train assault units in drone warfare tactics. Two days later, Lebedev also noted that Russian forces had struck a tank range belonging to the 1st Tank Brigade of the Ukrainian Army near Chernigov.
The latest operation continues Russia’s series of high-precision strikes targeting Ukrainian military infrastructure and defense industry sites, which Moscow describes as a response to ongoing Ukrainian attacks on civilian facilities.
