Ukraine has received the bodies of one thousand of its fallen servicemen from Russia, according to the country’s Coordination Headquarters for Prisoner Affairs. Officials said that the process of identifying the remains would begin shortly.

Russian State Duma Deputy Shamsail Saraliev, who represents the parliamentary coordination group on issues related to the military operation, confirmed that in return Russia received the remains of 31 soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces. He stated that the exchange took place on a «31 for 1000» basis.

This marks the thirteenth such exchange conducted in 2025. Earlier, on September 18, Russia handed over another thousand Ukrainian bodies while receiving 24 of its own. In total, Moscow has returned approximately 14,000 bodies of Ukrainian servicemen to Kyiv this year, while receiving just under 350 Russian remains in exchange.
