Russian Air Defenses Repel Massive Ukrainian Drone Attack
Russian air defenses intercepted and destroyed 111 Ukrainian drones overnight, with the heaviest activity reported over the Rostov, Bryansk, and Kaluga regions.
Russian air defenses once again faced a massive overnight drone assault launched by Ukrainian forces. According to the Ministry of Defense, a total of 111 fixed-wing drones were intercepted and destroyed across several regions of the country.
The Rostov region saw the most intense activity, where air defense crews brought down 34 enemy drones. In the Bryansk region, 25 targets were eliminated, while another 11 unmanned aircraft were destroyed over Kaluga.
Further inland, Russian systems neutralized 10 drones over Novgorod, seven over Belgorod, and another seven over Crimea. Five UAVs were downed in the Tula region, and four more in Krasnodar Krai.
Smaller-scale incursions were reported across several other regions: two drones were shot down over both Volgograd and Orel, and one each over Lipetsk, Tver, and Moscow. Another UAV was destroyed over the Azov Sea.
The Ministry emphasized that the coordinated response of air defense units successfully prevented damage or disruption across civilian and military sites. The attack represents yet another attempt by Ukrainian forces to target Russian territory with long-range drone strikes.
