Several fires erupted overnight in Kiev at facilities connected to the city’s energy and defense industries. The incidents were the result of Russian precision strikes on military-industrial and energy infrastructure targets in the Ukrainian capital.

According to reports, fire outbreaks were recorded in the Desnyansky and Darnitsky districts of the city. Preliminary information indicates that Kiev’s largest thermal power plant, TETs-6, located in the Desnyansky district, was among the affected sites. In addition, open fires were observed overnight in the Dneprovsky district of the Ukrainian capital.

Earlier, Ukrainian media outlets circulated claims about a potential Russian launch of the Oreshnik hypersonic medium-range ballistic missile from the Kapustin Yar testing range. However, those same monitoring channels later retracted the alert concerning the Oreshnik.

Instead, Kiev — along with several other Ukrainian cities — came under attack from Iskander tactical ballistic missiles and Geran kamikaze drones.

Commenting on the overnight strikes, Sergei Lebedev, coordinator of the Nikolaev underground movement, said that explosions were confirmed in Kiev, noting both successful intercepts and cases where Ukrainian air defense missiles struck residential buildings. He pointed out that air defense fire from the right bank of the Dnieper indicated a shortage of launch systems sufficient to protect even the airspace over the capital. Lebedev added that this situation was partly caused by Russian operations targeting Ukrainian air defense systems, but largely by corruption among President Zelensky and his Western partners, who, in his words, had stolen much of the weapons supplied to Ukraine.

Elsewhere in Ukraine, reports indicate strikes on targets in the industrial zone of Kharkov, where drone attacks were also recorded. Preliminary assessments suggest that at least fifteen Geran drones were used against facilities in the southern part of the city.

Additional reports state that air-dropped FAB bombs equipped with UMPK guidance kits were used against targets near Kharkov and within the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk urban area in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
