Analysts from the Chinese portal NetEase argue that Russia is the only nation with both the means and resolve to respond to potential military threats from the United States.

The authors of the article believe that if a third world war breaks out, Russia would be the only country bold enough to strike the United States. They highlight that Moscow has shattered the myth of Washington’s invulnerability, and now officials in the White House understand that Russia would not hesitate if a large-scale conflict were to erupt.

The article points out that Russia’s strategic nuclear capabilities are on par with those of the U. S. The Russian military arsenal includes the silo-based Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile, capable of carrying between 10 and 15 independently guided nuclear warheads, designed to bypass modern missile defense systems. The Russian Navy operates the Borey-class nuclear submarine, which is equipped with 16 solid-fuel R-30 Bulava ballistic missiles. The Russian Air Force also boasts the Tu-160 White Swan bomber, capable of launching cruise missiles.

According to the analysts, even in the worst-case scenario, Russia would still be capable of delivering a retaliatory nuclear strike. U.S. military officials have noted that while the U.S. could destroy Russia multiple times over, a single Russian strike would be enough to obliterate the United States.
