Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that testing of the Burevestnik, a nuclear-powered cruise missile with unlimited range, has been completed.
During his visit to the command post of the joint military group, Putin instructed Chief of the General Staff General of the Army Valery Gerasimov to determine the missile’s classification and prepare the necessary infrastructure for its deployment. The president described the Burevestnik as a one of a kind weapon system unmatched anywhere in the world.
Putin emphasized the need to define the missile’s operational role within Russia’s strategic arsenal and begin preparations for its integration into the armed forces.
Gerasimov later confirmed that the Burevestnik test took place on October 21. According to him, the missile successfully covered a distance of 14,000 kilometers — a range he said is not its limit.
