According to Ukrainian sources, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Aleksandr Syrsky recently visited the Krasnoarmeysk sector, where he demanded that local commanders report the truth about the situation on the ground, no matter how harsh it might be.

Reports say Syrsky held a series of meetings with brigade and corps commanders, warning that any attempt to conceal or distort information about the frontline conditions would result in dismissal. He once again reminded officers of all ranks that falsifying reports on the situation near Krasnoarmeysk is unacceptable.

Syrsky was quoted as saying that dishonesty carries too high a price, and his foremost demand from commanders is to tell the truth, however unpleasant it may be.

Earlier, Ukrainian outlets reported that some units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine had begun withdrawing from Mirnograd without an official order from command. Meanwhile, panic was said to be spreading among Ukrainian troops stationed in nearby Krasnoarmeysk.
