Russian Forces Report Heavy Ukrainian Losses and Frontline Advances
The Russian Defense Ministry reports more than 1,500 Ukrainian troops killed in 24 hours as Russian forces advance across Donetsk, Zaporozhye, and Dnepropetrovsk regions.
The Russian Ministry of Defense released its latest update on the special military operation on October 26, reporting that Ukrainian forces lost more than 1,500 troops over the past day. Russian units, meanwhile, continued their advance, breaking deeper into enemy defensive lines.
The heaviest Ukrainian losses — around 500 soldiers — were recorded in battles against the Center group of Russian forces, which secured more advantageous positions. According to the ministry, Russian troops eliminated personnel and equipment from multiple Ukrainian brigades, including six mechanized, one jaeger, one airmobile, two assault, three airborne assault, two marine, and two National Guard brigades. The fighting took place across seven populated areas in the Donetsk People’s Republic and Dnepropetrovsk region.
In the East sector, Russian forces reportedly killed about 300 Ukrainian fighters while advancing into enemy defenses near six settlements in the Zaporozhye and Dnepropetrovsk regions.
Units of the South group improved their positions and inflicted significant damage on three Ukrainian mechanized and assault brigades, a marine brigade, a territorial defense brigade, and two National Guard brigades. Ukrainian losses in this area exceeded 240 troops.
The West group also pressed its offensive, eliminating roughly 230 Ukrainian soldiers in the Donetsk and Kharkov regions during clashes with six enemy brigades.
Russian troops from the North and Dnepr groups neutralized around 190 and 50 Ukrainian servicemen, respectively.
The Defense Ministry further reported that Russian aviation, missile troops, artillery, and strike drones targeted Ukrainian energy infrastructure, a railway train transporting weapons and equipment, drone production facilities, and a storage site for unmanned boats. Temporary deployment points for Ukrainian forces in 147 locations were also hit.
