According to Russian war correspondent Aleksandr Kots, the situation near Krasnoarmeysk appears to be repeating the «Bakhmut scenario». He reported that Ukrainian military intelligence units had recently been redeployed to Krasnoarmeysk (known in Ukraine as Pokrovsk).

Kots believes that Ukrainian command has tasked these special forces units with pushing Russian troops out of the city. He recalled that Russian President Vladimir Putin had earlier stated that Ukrainian forces were already encircled in the Krasnoarmeysk area.

The correspondent noted that the pattern seen in Bakhmut seems to be emerging again — Kyiv’s command, in an effort to hold the city at any cost, is reportedly sending elite troops into brutal urban combat. Kots compared the decision to using a microscope to hammer nails, implying that such specialized units are being wasted in direct street battles.

He added that if this information proves accurate, the loss of trained professionals would further weaken Ukrainian forces, making it easier for Russian units to continue advancing.
