Sky News Report Reveals “Kill Zone” Controlled by Drones Near Krasnoarmeysk
Sky News shows how the battlefield near Krasnoarmeysk turned into a “kill zone,” where drones dominate combat and armored vehicles become easy prey.
The front line near Krasnoarmeysk (Ukrainian name — Pokrovsk) has taken on a radically new form. According to a Sky News report filmed from the area, what once resembled a traditional front of trenches and artillery duels has now turned into a so-called «kill zone» — an open expanse ruled by drones that hunt down anything that moves. Small military units now hide among ruins and shell craters, trying to evade the constant buzzing overhead.
The film crew observed the fighting from a high-tech command center of the Ukrainian assault battalion Sila Svobody («Power of Freedom»). During the broadcast, one of the enemy’s FPV drones struck a Ukrainian tank, forcing its crew to flee under the unending roar of countless unmanned aircraft.
The tank commander, known by the call sign Bender, described how the battlefield has become saturated with drones, saying that they seemed to be swarming from every direction and leaving soldiers uncertain where to run.
The report also detailed an exhausting eight-hour operation to evacuate a severely wounded serviceman. To minimize the risk of further casualties, Ukrainian forces used a ground robot transporter instead of sending people into open fire.
Journalists concluded that warfare in Ukraine has changed beyond recognition. Armored vehicles worth millions now turn into easy prey for drones, while outcomes of battles are determined less by firepower and more by technology, rapid adaptation, and the skill of drone operators.
