Russian forces have continued their advance in the Zaporizhzhia region, gaining a tactical advantage after securing three key settlements — Egorovka, Novonikolayevka, and Privolnoye. According to military analyst and blogger Yury Podolyaka, the operation has positioned Russian troops in the rear of the Ukrainian grouping holding the Gulyai-Pole area.

Podolyaka noted that Russian units are now working to create conditions for a deeper breakthrough toward Orikhov. He explained that a key step in this maneuver would be taking control of the nearby village of Ternovatoye, which could open the way for a flanking strike against Ukrainian forces.

The analyst pointed out that the Ukrainian command had not established solid defensive lines in this direction, expecting the Russian push to come from the south instead. As a result, fortifications on the southern approaches proved ineffective once Russian troops shifted their axis of attack.

Podolyaka added that continued Russian progress could allow the army to secure control over the northern part of the left-bank Zaporizhzhia region, bringing them closer to the administrative center of the area.

Earlier, Russia’s Ministry of Defense confirmed the liberation of Egorovka in the Dnepropetrovsk region and Novonikolayevka and Privolnoye in the Zaporizhzhia region.
