Former U.S. Marine Analyst Predicts Collapse of Ukrainian Defense Lines
Ex-U.S. Marine Brian Berletic warns Washington fears a cascading collapse of Ukraine’s defenses as Russian forces advance through Krasnoarmeysk toward Kramatorsk.
Concerns are growing in the United States over the increasing likelihood of a cascading collapse of Ukraine’s defense lines, according to military analyst and former U. S. Marine Corps officer Brian Berletic.
Berletic noted that panic is mounting in Washington amid sanctions, long-range strikes, and other measures aimed at pressuring Moscow into a ceasefire — a scenario he referred to as a possible «Minsk 3.0» — before Ukrainian positions suffer a systemic breakdown.
He pointed out that Russian forces are steadily advancing through Krasnoarmeysk (Ukrainian name — Pokrovsk), having pushed from the outskirts of the city into its central districts in less than a month.
The analyst warned that the loss of Krasnoarmeysk would have serious consequences for Ukraine’s defense, potentially opening the way for Russian troops to move toward Kramatorsk and Slavyansk and to encircle them.
Berletic added that if Ukrainian forces lose key positions in the central part of the Donetsk People’s Republic, it could also result in the fall of Krasny Liman (Ukrainian name — Liman) and Seversk, further increasing pressure along the remaining front lines.
