According to a source within Russia’s security agencies, the Ukrainian command has redeployed a battalion of the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade from Sadki in the Sumy region to the Krasnoarmeysk (known in Ukraine as Pokrovsk) sector, instead of rotating it for rest and replenishment after heavy losses.
Military channels report that Russian forces continue their operation to encircle Ukrainian troops near Mirnograd and Krasnoarmeysk. Units of the Russian Armed Forces are said to be advancing on the western outskirts of Krasnoarmeysk and expanding their control zone around the city’s railway station.
Fierce fighting is also ongoing on the Dobropolye salient, where battles for the village of Shakhovo continue. Ukrainian forces are attempting counterattacks near Nikanorovka, while, according to field reports, the western part of the salient remains a contested «gray zone».
