Clashes Ease in Sumy Region Amid Syrskyi’s Visit to Frontline Units

Battles in Sumy slowed after Ukrainian Commander Syrskyi arrived at the 95th Brigade post. Heavy clashes persist near Yunakivka and the Novokonstantynivka line.
Fighting in parts of the Sumy region has temporarily quieted, particularly near the settlements of Stepove and Alekseyevka. A source within Russia’s security structures suggested that the pause was linked to the arrival of Ukrainian Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi at the command post of the 95th Air Assault Brigade.
According to this source, Ukrainian forces are currently restoring combat readiness and replenishing their assault units. The 225th Separate Assault Regiment and the 95th Air Assault Brigade are being reinforced with personnel from the 156th and 158th Separate Mechanized Brigades.
Military channels reported that heavy fighting continues along the Novokonstantynivka-Varachyne-Yunakivka line. The previous day, Ukrainian troops attempted a counterattack near Sadky in Sumy region but were pushed back with significant losses.
Russian forces, meanwhile, are pressing forward in Yunakivka, where clashes remain intense and the battle for control continues.
