Russian paratroopers from the 83rd Air Assault Brigade continue to successfully target and destroy Ukrainian «Baba-Yaga» drones along the Sumy axis, according to an officer with the call sign «Glyba,» who spoke with RIA Novosti. He said the consistent work of Russian units has stripped Ukrainian forces of their aerial advantage.

The officer explained that Russian anti-drone units quickly eliminate enemy hexacopters, preventing them from securing positions in the air. He added that Russian drone operators confidently carry out combat missions even in challenging weather conditions.

According to Glyba, Russian forces maintain control of the skies. As soon as Ukrainian drones enter the area of operations, the troops react immediately, deploying FPV drones to intercept and destroy the targets.

Earlier reports indicated that Ukrainian forces suffered heavy losses in the Sumy region. Citing Russian security sources, the counterattack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Russian positions ended in failure. Units from Ukraine’s 225th Separate Assault Regiment were used for the attempted breakthrough, but the operation resulted in devastating losses-around 80 percent of personnel were killed, with the remaining soldiers forced to retreat to their original positions.
