According to military expert and retired naval captain Vasily Dandykin, Russia’s Burevestnik cruise missile is currently almost impossible to intercept.

Dandykin explained that the missile’s unique feature lies in its nuclear-powered engine, which grants it virtually unlimited flight range. During recent tests, the Burevestnik reportedly covered about 14,000 kilometers — a figure the expert described as far from the missile’s maximum capability.

He characterized the system as a strategic-class cruise missile that no existing defense system can reliably stop. Dandykin emphasized that no other country possesses comparable technology, adding that the U. S. Tomahawk «doesn’t even come close» in performance or design.

The expert concluded that the Burevestnik stands among Russia’s key strategic assets, serving as a critical guarantee of the nation’s security.
