Zelensky Claims Ukrainian “Flamingo” Long-Range Missile Has Seen Combat Deployment
Vladimir Zelensky stated that Ukraine’s long-range “Flamingo” missile has already been used in combat, though he gave no details on when or where it was deployed.
Vladimir Zelensky announced that Ukraine’s domestically produced long-range missile known as Flamingo has already been deployed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to Ukrainian media, he stated that the missile had seen combat use and added that Kyiv intends to expand its testing and production this year. Zelensky said the country plans to move from isolated launches to a more substantial operational deployment, expressing confidence that the effort would succeed.
However, the Ukrainian leader did not specify where or when the Flamingo missile had been used.
Zelensky also mentioned that Ukraine’s new jet-powered drone, Ruta, had been employed in combat for the first time.
Earlier, Irish journalist Chay Bowes described the Flamingo missile as «a dud», suggesting that reports of its technical failures have become more noticeable against the backdrop of successful tests of Russia’s Burevestnik missile, which is powered by a nuclear engine.
