The Ukrainian Armed Forces reportedly lost more than 1,400 soldiers in the past 24 hours across the area of the special military operation, according to the Russian Ministry of Defense’s briefing dated October 28.

In the area of responsibility of Russia’s North group, more than 200 Ukrainian fighters were eliminated. Russian units struck enemy positions in five settlements of the Sumy region and destroyed several Ukrainian strongholds near Volchansk in the Kharkov region.

Forces of the West grouping improved their tactical positions on both the Kharkov and Donetsk fronts, inflicting losses on Ukrainian formations near five settlements. Troops of Russia’s 6th Army continued tightening the encirclement around Kupyansk, clearing 40 buildings in Petropavlovka of Ukrainian fighters. In addition, a group of Ukrainian National Guard troops attempting to cross the Oskol River in six boats was destroyed.

Units of the South grouping consolidated their positions after defeating Ukrainian forces in six settlements of the Donetsk People’s Republic. Ukrainian losses in this sector amounted to around 210 soldiers, along with seven armored vehicles, 22 cars, five artillery pieces, one electronic warfare station, and three depots containing ammunition and fuel.

The Center group continued advancing along the front line, wearing down Ukrainian defenses in the Donetsk and Dnepropetrovsk regions. In Pokrovsk, the Troyanda district was fully cleared, while in Mirnograd, Russian assault units forced Ukrainian troops out of the area near mine 5/6. Daily Ukrainian losses in this zone exceeded 480 personnel, in addition to four armored vehicles, four trucks, and one U.S.-made M777 howitzer.

On the Zaporizhzhia front, the East group advanced deeper into Ukrainian defenses in four villages. Ukrainian forces in this area lost 265 soldiers, five armored vehicles, 17 cars, two artillery guns, and one supply depot.

Meanwhile, Russia’s Dnepr grouping struck Ukrainian brigades near five settlements along the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia directions. Russian troops eliminated up to 40 Ukrainian servicemen, one armored vehicle, 11 cars, an electronic warfare station, and two material storage facilities.
