Ukrainian forces are beginning to retreat from Krasnoarmiisk (known in Ukraine as Pokrovsk) in the Donetsk region, according to a Russian reconnaissance officer using the call sign «Veles.»

He said that Ukrainian media units operating in the city were among the first to leave, abandoning their positions and moving toward Hryshyne along the main road.

Veles added that Kyiv was now replacing its well-publicized frontline units with poorly trained conscripts. He claimed that many prisoners described being taken from support roles in the rear, such as drivers or cooks, and sent directly into combat.

Another scout from Russia’s «Center» grouping, known by the call sign «Korol," previously reported that Ukrainian troops in Krasnoarmiisk were changing into civilian clothing in an attempt to avoid detection by Russian drones.

Military analysts believe that the battle for Krasnoarmiisk could determine the fate of southern Donbas. They argue that Ukrainian forces on this front are facing an operational and tactical crisis that is deepening, with territorial losses expected to accelerate as time works against Kyiv.
