Russian air defense systems can easily shoot down Ukraine’s Flamingo missile, according to Yuri Knutov, a military expert and historian specializing in air defense forces, who spoke with NEWS.ru.

Knutov noted that even the Pantsir missile and gun system, originally designed to combat drones, is capable of reliably intercepting this target. He added that if the Pantsir can neutralize the Flamingo, then more advanced systems such as the Buk, S-300, S-350 Vityaz, and S-400 are certainly able to do the same with even greater efficiency.

Earlier, Russian military blogger Aleksey Voevoda reported that domestic air defense units had successfully intercepted a Ukrainian Flamingo missile for the first time. According to his account, the interception occurred at an altitude of about 100 meters while the missile was traveling at roughly 600 kilometers per hour.

Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Fire Point company, which manufactures the Flamingo, admitted that it cannot conduct missile testing on Ukrainian territory.
