Russian Air Defenses Intercept 93 Ukrainian Drones Overnight


Russia’s Defense Ministry reports shooting down 93 Ukrainian drones overnight across seven regions and the Black Sea. Damage reported in Voronezh and Krasnodar regions.
Russia’s Ministry of Defense reported that during the night of August 2 to 3, between 11:30 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Moscow time, air defense units intercepted and destroyed 93 fixed-wing drones launched by Ukrainian forces. The drone barrage targeted seven Russian regions and the Black Sea.
According to the ministry, the largest number of drones-60-was downed over the Black Sea. In the Voronezh region, air defense forces intercepted 18 drones. Other reported interceptions included 7 in Belgorod, 3 in Bryansk, 2 in Kursk, and one drone each in Nizhny Novgorod region, Krasnodar Territory, and Crimea.
Voronezh Governor Alexander Gusev stated that four people were injured as a result of the attack in his region. One private home was destroyed by fire, and several others sustained damage. Additional destruction was reported to a car parts store and a utility building.
In Krasnodar’s Adler district, debris from a downed drone struck a fuel container, igniting a fire in a tank with a capacity exceeding 2,000 cubic meters. The flames also spread to a nearby garage and retail outlet.
Meanwhile, Bryansk Governor Alexander Bogomaz confirmed that no injuries or damage occurred in his region.
This latest incident follows a string of similar attacks: on the evening of August 2, between 8:00 p.m. and 11:35 p.m., Russian air defense units reportedly downed 41 Ukrainian drones. The previous night, 112 drones were intercepted.
