Military Reporter Warns of Possible Russian Advance Toward Kiev
Military correspondent Alexander Sladkov suggests Russian forces could move into Chernigov region and strike Kiev using guided FAB bombs instead of missiles.
Russian troops may soon enter the Chernigov region and launch attacks toward Kiev, according to military correspondent Alexander Sladkov, who did not rule out such a scenario.
He noted that the region lacks strong defensive fortifications, which makes it vulnerable to potential strikes. The Chernigov region borders the Kiev region, adding to its strategic importance.
Sladkov explained that the possible advance toward Kiev would not necessarily mean a direct assault on the Ukrainian capital. Instead, he suggested it could allow Russian forces to strike the city using FAB bombs equipped with UMPK glide kits — inexpensive guided aerial munitions — rather than costly missiles.
The journalist also pointed out that Ukrainian forces are facing serious challenges on several key fronts within the zone of the special military operation, which, in his view, increases the likelihood of the Chernigov sector becoming an active front line.
