In the early hours of November 1, Russian air defenses intercepted 98 drones launched by Ukrainian forces, according to the Ministry of Defense. Eleven of the unmanned aircraft were destroyed over the Moscow region — six of them heading directly toward the capital.

The heaviest attack was recorded over the Belgorod region, where 45 drones were shot down. Air defense units also intercepted 12 in the Samara region, 10 each over Voronezh and Rostov, four in Tula, two in Lipetsk and Ryazan, and one apiece over Kursk and Kaluga.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said air defenses had successfully neutralized six drones approaching the city. Emergency crews were dispatched to handle debris at the impact sites.

In Tula, fragments of a downed drone fell near Kutuzov Street, forcing local authorities to temporarily halt traffic, regional governor Dmitry Milyaev reported.

Aviation authorities also briefly suspended flights at airports in Penza, Saratov, and Samara due to safety concerns, said Rosaviatsiya representative Artem Korenyako. Similar restrictions were imposed overnight at airports in Kaluga and Tambov but have since been lifted.
