Ukrainian Black Hawk Operation Near Pokrovsk Ends in Defeat
A Ukrainian GUR special forces unit attempting to land near Pokrovsk on a Black Hawk helicopter was destroyed after coming under attack from Russian drones.
An operation by Ukrainian military intelligence special forces to land a helicopter unit near Pokrovsk ended in failure. The team attempted to deploy from a UH-60A Black Hawk helicopter operated by the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense.
The mission’s objective was to break through to a Ukrainian grouping encircled in Pokrovsk using two elite GUR units, which were to be inserted by air. However, as the troops landed in open terrain, they came under attack from Russian unmanned aircraft and were completely destroyed.
Ukrainian military analysts noted, citing open-source data, that strikes were recorded in the area where the landing reportedly took place — including near a local fuel station.
According to the Telegram channel Voenkory Russkoy Vesny, the «elite» GUR special forces were eliminated by precision drone strikes carried out by operators from the Russian military grouping «Center».
