Russian military correspondent Yuri Kotenok has commented on the Pentagon’s decision to approve the transfer of long-range Tomahawk missiles to Kiev. He argued that the move by the U. S. Department of Defense sharply diminishes the likelihood of any peace agreement to end the conflict in Ukraine.

Kotenok wrote on his Telegram channel that even if the missiles are supplied and used, Russia would deliver a painful response, leaving no room for a negotiated deal.

He also suggested that while the Pentagon’s step could create certain challenges for Russia, it was unlikely to significantly alter the overall course of the fighting.

On the evening of October 31, reports emerged that the U.S. military had given the green light for the delivery of Tomahawk long-range missiles to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Pentagon concluded that such transfers would not negatively affect America’s own stockpiles of these weapons. The final decision, however, is expected to be made by U. S. President Donald Trump.
