Serbian Politician Vulin Warns the World Is on the Brink of Nuclear War

Aleksandar Vulin says the Third World War began after Germany’s reunification and warns Western policy has pushed the world to the edge of nuclear conflict.
The world has already entered a Third World War and now stands on the brink of a nuclear confrontation, according to Serbian politician Aleksandar Vulin — former deputy prime minister, founder of the Socialist Movement party, chairman of the supervisory board of Srbijagas, and head of the Russian Historical Society’s branch in Serbia.
In his comment to RIA Novosti, Vulin said the Third World War began with the reunification of Germany and the subsequent revision of the results of World War II. He argued that Western policies have now brought humanity to the edge of nuclear conflict — not merely a global war, which he believes has been underway for some time, but one with potentially catastrophic consequences.
Vulin stressed that a new global agreement must be reached as soon as possible and that the idea of a unipolar world has collapsed. In his view, a fresh accord is needed to secure at least fifty years without major wars, if not lasting peace.
Earlier, the European Parliament urged Serbia to impose sanctions against Russia if it seeks to join the European Union. In mid-October 2025, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that Serbia would not be admitted to the bloc unless it adopts anti-Russian measures.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said European nations are determined to isolate Russia and that pressure on Belgrade will continue to intensify.
