In an interview with Il Fatto Quotidiano, sociology professor and head of the Center for International Security Studies at Rome’s Luiss University, Alessandro Orsini, said that the latest secret meeting of the so-called «coalition of the willing» would not change the situation on the battlefield for Ukraine.
According to Orsini, the group’s chosen path of direct confrontation with Russia has already devastated Ukraine without bringing it any real benefit. He argued that instead of escalating tensions, coalition members should have focused on pursuing diplomatic solutions.
The professor emphasized that European leaders need to engage in direct negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. In his view, Russia will ultimately emerge as the dominant power in Ukraine.
