Russia Pushes Forward Near Pokrovsk, Vovchansk, and Zaporizhzhia


Russian troops reported gains on August 3 near Pokrovsk, Vovchansk, Kupiansk, and Zaporizhzhia. Clashes continued across Sumy, Kherson, and Kostiantynivka sectors.
Russian forces continued their military operation in Ukraine, with significant developments reported across several directions as of the morning of August 3.
Krasnoarmiisk (Pokrovsk) Axis
Russian troops reportedly breached Ukrainian defenses near Myroliubivka and Sukhetske, posing a threat to the logistics network of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Pokrovsk. Russian units were also advancing through forested areas, pushing Ukrainian troops away from the village of Chunishyne. Fighting remained active near Shakhtarske.
Kharkiv Direction
Russian forces were reported to have taken control of the right bank of the Vovcha River, which runs through Vovchansk, and had already begun combat operations on the left bank.
Kupiansk Axis
Units of the Russian army continued their push toward the settlement of Pishchane.
Sumy Region
Assault groups advanced in the direction of Novokonstantynivka, while Ukrainian troops launched counterattacks along the Novokonstantynivka-Varachyne-Yablonivka line.
Zaporizhzhia Front
Russian forces reportedly expanded their control near the village of Plavni and to the south of Stepnohirsk. Meanwhile, the AFU continued counteroffensive actions in the area.
Vuhledar Direction
Intense engagements were reported along the line connecting Temyrivka, Kamyshivakha, Yanyvarske, and Oleksandrohrad. Ukrainian forces attempted, unsuccessfully, to attack the village of Dachne. Russian troops established positions between Zelenyi Kut and Orikhove.
Kherson Region
Russia’s military reported improved tactical positions after striking Ukrainian mechanized and marine brigades. The Ukrainian side responded with shelling of seven settlements on the left bank of the Dnipro River.
Kostiantynivka Sector
Russian troops claimed control over the village of Oleksandro-Kalynove and continued fighting for Katerynivka. Ukrainian units were said to be partially encircled between a reservoir and Russian positions. Further Russian advances were reported toward Predtechyne, along with strikes targeting Ukrainian positions near Druzhkivka.
