According to Newsweek, the United States is set to conduct its first intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) test since President Donald Trump’s directive to resume nuclear weapon tests.

The missile launch will take place from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, with the Minuteman III being directed toward the Ronald Reagan Missile Defense Test Site on Kwajalein Atoll. The missile’s trajectory will mirror that of a previous test in May, when an unarmed missile flew approximately 6,700 kilometers across the Pacific Ocean.

Newsweek also noted that this upcoming test will be the second in the last two months, following the launch of four unarmed Trident II D5 missiles by the U. S. Navy in the Atlantic Ocean in September.

In addition, the report reminded readers that last week, President Trump ordered the immediate initiation of nuclear weapons testing, citing that other nations are allegedly pursuing similar actions.
