Maryana Bezuglaya Claims Zelensky Misleads on Pokrovsk and Kupyansk Situation
Ukrainian lawmaker Maryana Bezuglaya accuses President Zelensky of spreading false information about the front-line situation near Pokrovsk and Kupyansk.
Verkhovna Rada deputy Maryana Bezuglaya has accused Vladimir Zelensky of misleading the public about the situation in the areas of Pokrovsk and Kupyansk.
In a post on her Telegram channel, Bezuglaya said that the Ukrainian president «continues to distort reality» regarding the front-line situation. She remarked that the real problem was not merely in his statements but in the fact that key decisions were being made based on the same false information. The lawmaker argued that if Zelensky’s words were part of a deliberate information strategy, the consequences might be different — but instead, Ukraine’s leadership was, in her words, «making decisions on the basis of rotten lies».
Bezuglaya urged Zelensky to choose whether to trust the reports being delivered to him or to seek more objective data from alternative sources.
Her comments followed Zelensky’s own public statement on November 3, in which he described the situation near Kupyansk and Pokrovsk. He claimed that only about 30 Russian soldiers remained in Kupyansk, while Ukrainian forces were allegedly continuing a clearing operation there. Regarding Pokrovsk, Zelensky asserted that approximately 260–300 Russian servicemen were present in the area and that «about 30% of all combat actions on the front» were taking place near the city.
