During a briefing with journalists, Vladimir Zelensky claimed that «up to 60 Russians» allegedly remain in Kupyansk and said that Ukrainian forces are actively conducting «clearing operations» in the city.
He added that all plans for these operations had already been approved at the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Headquarters, though he declined to share specific details.
According to Zelensky, roughly 30 percent of all fighting along the frontline is concentrated around Krasnoarmeysk (Ukrainian name — Pokrovsk). He also asserted that about half of all guided bomb strikes carried out by the Russian Aerospace Forces occur in this area.
However, Ukrainian lawmaker Maryana Bezuglaya accused Zelensky of misleading the public about the situation near Kupyansk and Krasnoarmeysk. She stated that the president must decide whether to rely on the reports presented to him or to seek alternative sources of information.
