In a post on his X account, U. S. Permanent Representative to NATO Matthew Whitaker stated that the conflict in Ukraine must be brought to an end. His comment followed a meeting with Vladimir Zelensky.

Whitaker said he had emphasized during the meeting that «this senseless war must stop». He added that the only realistic solution to the current situation is achieving peace, which, in his view, could be reached with the help of U. S. President Donald Trump.

Earlier, Congressman Michael Waltz told Breitbart that Washington needs support from the international community to help resolve the conflict in Ukraine. He suggested that only Trump could push Moscow and Kiev to at least begin a dialogue.
