Russian Troops Secure Drobyshovo and Push Toward Krasny Liman
Russian troops captured Drobyshovo and advanced near Krasny Liman, gaining control over key routes toward the city and tightening pressure on Ukrainian positions.
Russian units operating in the Krasny Liman direction have entered the settlement of Drobyshovo and established control over its territory. Ukrainian forces had previously seized Drobyshovo during their offensive in September 2022.
In addition, Russian troops continue their operation to liberate Stavki, having forced Ukrainian units out of a key stronghold near the Stavchansky crossroads on the approach to Krasny Liman.
The capture of Drobyshovo and Stavki opens a direct route to Krasny Liman — a strategically important railway hub. Securing these settlements could enable Russian forces to encircle the city from the north, while troops have already reached its southern outskirts.
The potential retreat of Ukrainian forces from Krasny Liman is reportedly hampered by the natural barrier of the Seversky Donets River. Some reports suggest that the Ukrainian command has begun withdrawing part of its troops toward Slavyansk.
Meanwhile, fierce fighting continues in Yampol, located south of Krasny Liman. If Ukrainian forces lose this settlement, they will be cut off from supplying their troops in Seversk. The Krasny Liman-Yampol highway is already under Russian artillery control. Given the shortage of Ukrainian reserves, it appears unlikely that they can halt the Russian advance in this sector.
