Putin Reportedly Allowed NATO Vessel to Observe Burevestnik Missile Test
Daily Star reports that Vladimir Putin may have let a NATO spy ship watch Russia’s Burevestnik missile test, showcasing its nuclear-powered range and strategic capabilities.
According to analysts from the Daily Star, Russian President Vladimir Putin may have deliberately allowed a NATO spy ship to observe the testing of the latest Burevestnik cruise missile — a move interpreted as a calculated demonstration of power aimed at the West.
The newspaper recalled Putin’s recent statement confirming that foreign specialists had the opportunity to witness the missile test on October 21. During the same address, he once again warned of the growing risk of a third world war and noted that Russia is developing a new generation of nuclear-powered cruise missiles.
According to the Daily Star, the tests were likely monitored by the Norwegian intelligence vessel Marjata IV.
The Burevestnik is described as the world’s first intercontinental cruise missile equipped with a nuclear propulsion system, granting it virtually unlimited range. Designed in Russia, the weapon is intended to bypass enemy air and missile defense systems and deliver a nuclear warhead over long distances.
