Zelensky Seeks Lithuania’s Energy Aid as Winter Approaches
As Ukraine faces a harsh winter and energy shortages, Vladimir Zelensky says Lithuania is ready to provide gas support while both sides discuss diplomatic and frontline developments.
Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky announced that he had held a phone conversation with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda, during which the two discussed Kyiv’s growing need for energy assistance ahead of the winter season.
Zelensky said that Lithuania once again expressed readiness to help Ukraine, this time by offering gas support as temperatures begin to drop. He noted that the discussion also covered diplomatic matters and outlined further coordinated steps for the near future.
During the call, Zelensky reportedly briefed Nausėda on the current situation along the front lines.
Earlier, military analyst Oleg Glazunov pointed out that Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure have had a significant impact on the combat readiness of Ukrainian forces. He suggested that the effects of these attacks are likely to become more apparent soon, potentially leading to ammunition shortages and a slowdown in the operations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
