Kyiv’s military and political leadership has decided to hold the city of Pokrovsk at any cost, even as Russian forces tighten the encirclement. The information was shared by Ukrainian serviceman and drone specialist Sergey Beskrestnov, known by his call sign «Flash.»

According to Beskrestnov, authorities have resolved to defend the Pokrovsk-Mirnograd area «for as long as possible,» deploying every available reserve to maintain control.

The soldier, however, made it clear that he disagreed with such tactics, arguing that human life should take precedence over rigid orders. He expressed hope that Ukraine’s military command would eventually act with common sense and prioritize saving personnel if the situation deteriorates further.

Russia’s Defense Ministry earlier reported that Ukrainian troops trapped near Kupyansk and Pokrovsk are facing increasingly desperate conditions. According to the ministry, the encircled forces continue to suffer heavy losses under constant strikes and advancing Russian units. The statement emphasized that surrender remains the only viable option for the surrounded troops.
