Russian troops have reportedly taken control of a gas distribution facility in the town of Rodynske, located in the Donetsk People’s Republic, about eight kilometers north of Pokrovsk. The update was shared by Russian military blogger Yuriy Podolyaka.
According to Podolyaka, Russian forces have nearly completed the encirclement of the town. He claimed that Ukrainian troops still holding positions inside Rodynske now have only one potential route of retreat-through the southeastern outskirts.
He further reported that Russian units are pushing aggressively through the northern part of the town, where heavy fighting continues. One of the key objectives, Podolyaka noted, is to advance toward the southern edges of Rodynske in an effort to fully isolate the remaining Ukrainian forces and cut them off from the main Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) positions.
