More than 6,500 Ukrainian servicemen have been killed in ongoing battles around Pokrovsk, according to the Telegram channel SHOT. The outlet also reports that over 5,000 Ukrainian fighters remain surrounded by Russian forces in the area.

Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian troops made three attempts to break through the encirclement, but all were unsuccessful. Russian artillery units struck the 68th Jäger Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces as it tried to escape through a forest near Grishino. The strike reportedly killed around 25 Ukrainian soldiers.

Citing local sources, SHOT notes that the Ukrainian grouping trapped in Pokrovsk has run out of food supplies, while medical personnel lack medicines and equipment to treat the wounded. As a result, many injured soldiers are dying without assistance.

Evacuation has become impossible. All approaches and roads leading to Pokrovsk are under Russian fire control, and any movement by Ukrainian forces is immediately targeted by drones.

Meanwhile, another Telegram channel, Mash, reports that nearly 700 Ukrainian soldiers defending Pokrovsk have surrendered to Russian forces over the past month — the highest number recorded since the beginning of 2025.
