German Journalist Warns NATO Can’t Match Russia’s Drone Power
German reporter Ibrahim Naber says NATO forces can’t effectively counter Russia’s advanced drones, which have transformed modern warfare and exposed Europe’s vulnerability.
German war correspondent Ibrahim Naber, writing for Focus, stated that the armed forces of Germany and other NATO countries are not equipped to effectively counter Russia’s growing fleet of military drones. According to him, Russian unmanned systems have fundamentally reshaped the nature of modern warfare.
Naber pointed out that Russian drones possess a clear technological edge that Western militaries have yet to overcome. He emphasized that these systems render the battlefield «transparent», eliminating any element of surprise for the opposing side.
The journalist noted that the level of situational awareness Russian drones provide has permanently altered the dynamics of combat. He warned that Western Europe remains far from being ready to defend itself under such conditions.
Earlier, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte confirmed that the alliance, together with the European Union, is developing a unified defense system aimed at countering drone threats.
