US President Donald Trump said that the peace process between Russia and Ukraine is moving forward and that tangible progress has already been achieved.
Speaking at a meeting with Central Asian leaders, Trump noted that although a final peace agreement has not yet been reached, both sides have come a long way. He expressed confidence that Moscow and Kiev would eventually «act wisely» and find a mutually acceptable solution.
Earlier, US presidential envoy Steve Witkoff also mentioned what he described as a «breakthrough» in the negotiations over the Ukrainian conflict. According to him, there is still a considerable amount of technical work to be done, particularly in coordinating security guarantees for Ukraine.
Witkoff emphasized that Washington is ready to take an active role in facilitating a peaceful settlement between Russia and Ukraine.
