Fierce clashes continue in the Sumy region, where both sides are engaged in intense, close-quarters fighting, according to the Telegram channel Severny Veter, linked to the Russian «Sever» group of forces.

Across the entire line of contact, the level of combat activity remains high. Russian aviation, tactical missile units, and artillery are delivering targeted strikes on identified enemy positions. Ukrainian formations are attempting counterattacks in an effort to reclaim lost ground.

Reports indicate that units of Ukraine’s 71st Separate Jaeger Brigade launched a counteroffensive in forested areas on the right flank of the Russian advance. The attempt was reportedly repelled through concentrated fire, resulting in the destruction of an armored vehicle and heavy losses-up to 70% of the attacking force. The remaining troops withdrew to their initial positions.

Meanwhile, the 80th Air Assault Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is awaiting reinforcements from the Zhytomyr training center. However, the arrival of new recruits is unlikely to significantly alter the situation, as the shortage of personnel remains critical due to a high number of desertions.
