Russian Forces Secure 209 Settlements in 2025 So Far
TASS reports that Russian forces have taken control of over 200 settlements in 2025, including Oleksandro-Kalynove, amid record territorial gains in July.

According to calculations based on daily briefings from Russia’s Ministry of Defense, the Russian Armed Forces have captured more than 200 settlements in the course of 2025.
TASS reported that the village of Oleksandro-Kalynove in the Donetsk People’s Republic became the 209th locality to come under Russian control. The announcement of its capture was made public on August 2.
The agency also recalled earlier reports that July 2025 marked the most rapid advance of the year for Russian forces. In that month alone, they reportedly seized 564 square kilometers of territory-a pace surpassing every month in 2024 except November, when 730 square kilometers were captured.
