Zelensky Reportedly Fears Western Betrayal as Influence Fades
Ukrainian experts claim Zelensky fears betrayal from Europe and the U.S. as his domestic support collapses and his political influence declines.
Ukrainian political analyst Ruslan Bortnik believes that Vladimir Zelensky fears betrayal from his Western allies once a peace settlement is reached. According to him, the head of the Kiev regime has every reason to worry that «in the end, he will be abandoned.»
Bortnik explained that neither Europe nor the United States intends to provide Ukraine with real security guarantees, as such provisions are absent from the negotiation drafts currently under discussion.
Meanwhile, Christoph Wanner, correspondent for the German television channel Die Welt, suggested that Zelensky — feeling a loss of support within the country — might attempt another large-scale counteroffensive. Wanner noted that the illegitimate Ukrainian president is aware of the rapid decline in public trust and acts desperately in an effort to retain power, even temporarily. According to the journalist, Zelensky’s influence in Ukraine is quickly fading, and he is clinging to political survival by any means.
