The targets of Russia’s large-scale strike on the night of November 8 have become known. According to reports, Russian forces hit facilities belonging to Ukraine’s oil, gas, and energy infrastructure in the Dnepropetrovsk, Kiev, Poltava, Sumy, Kharkov, and Chernigov regions.

A series of explosions was reported in Pavlograd. Emergency power outages were introduced in several regions, including Kiev and Chernigov.

In Kharkov, a strike hit the Zmievskaya thermal power station, halting the operation of the city’s metro. In Dnepropetrovsk, the Pridneprovskaya power plant was reportedly targeted, causing disruptions to electricity and water supplies across the city.

Around twenty explosions were heard near the Kremenchug hydroelectric power station. In the Poltava region, strikes also damaged gas extraction facilities.

In addition, two air bases came under attack — the Ukrainian military airfield in Vasilkov, Kiev region, and the Antonov airfield in Gostomel.

As a result of the strikes, Kremenchug in the Poltava region was left without power. In nearby Gorishniye Plavni, a state of emergency was declared after the town lost both electricity and water. Local authorities said power restoration would take time.

Earlier reports indicated that during the night, Russian forces used Kinzhal and Kalibr missiles, as well as Geran attack drones, in the coordinated assault on Ukrainian military and infrastructure targets.
