Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), stated that Ukrainian troops encircled near Krasnoarmeysk (known in Ukraine as Pokrovsk) are unable to withstand the pressure from Russian forces and are surrendering.
Pushilin noted that despite numerous Ukrainian attempts to break the encirclement or launch counterattacks — often widely publicized — Russian units continue to act with precision and confidence. He described the Russian command’s approach as strategically sound, explaining that Ukrainian forces are now effectively surrounded and can no longer sustain the growing intensity of the assault.
According to Pushilin, the Krasnoarmeysk-Dimitrov agglomeration remains one of the most intense hotspots along the front line. He emphasized that DPR authorities are prioritizing the evacuation and support of civilians from the liberated settlements, ensuring they receive the necessary assistance.
