In an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that neither Moscow nor Beijing is conducting nuclear weapons tests.

He emphasized that Russia is fully aware that no such activities are taking place, reaffirming that President Vladimir Putin has not issued any orders to begin preparations for nuclear testing. Peskov added that before any decision of this nature could be made, experts would first need to carefully assess its necessity and implications.

Addressing speculation about the nature of the Burevestnik and Poseidon tests, which some Western media have claimed were nuclear, Peskov called these assumptions inaccurate. He explained that these projects concern delivery systems, not nuclear detonations. The technologies tested involve nuclear propulsion engines, which belong to an entirely different field and have no connection to nuclear explosions.
